If you follow me on twitter you would have heard me whining about feeling ill...again! I'm still pretty iffy now but trying to solder on and keep my baby blog running haha.I didn't want to post unless my heart was in it really, so I decided to write this post all about my Sick-Day Essentials that have been making me feel a little more 'human' lately, and if your unfortunately in the same boat it may give you some ideas too.
As you can see from the photo, I have been steering away from makeup to try and help my stressed out skin (not that I've really felt like wearing makeup anyway).
I found that running a bath with the wonderful Arran Aromatics Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral soak I previously reviewed here, really soothed all my aching muscles while the scent just totally cleared my sinuses - I have one bath's worth left of this so I'm savouring it now, but this felt magical when I was at my worst..it's amazing!
The GlamGlow Super Mud is the only mask I turn to in need of major spot help, like most when they are ill the spot friends like to come out and play in full force! so a few minutes with this effective face mask slathered on keeps those buggers down. I have a full review of this here.
I've also been using the L'Oreal Professionnel Pro Keratin hair mask. I got this as a sample in one of my Look Fantastic beauty boxes and I have really been enjoying it; it gives lots of moisture and softness while keeping frizz at bay when I cant really be bothered to straighten my hair.
After the mask is washed off, I spritz on a toner then go to my trusty Indeed Labs Hydraluron serum and Moisture Jelly to give that much needed moisture back. My skin has been so dull and dry recently and this combo is making things so much better, it feels real refreshing too which helps.
In the day I have been using the Origins GinZing eye cream which really soothes and brightens my under-eye area, making me look less like a zombie for those early morning nursery runs with the kids.
The Nuxe Reve De Miel lip balm has been transforming my dry pout no end, I shown my love for this on my recent favourites post here.
Throughout the day I have been drinking Twinings Lemon and Honey Green Tea to help soothe my horribly sore throat. Then before bed I will pop on my thick cuddly bear dressing gown, that I bought from Topshop a few weeks back - if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you may have seen it? this just keeps me warm and cosy, along with with help from my yummy smelling Flamingo Candle in Applecurrant Crumble..because what's relaxing without a candle eh?
Then before I try get sleep I have a read of my favourite book at the moment Pretty Honest by Sali Huges, (have you read this yet?) I find reading helps me shut off easier.
Oh and I almost forgot the GRAPES - it's pretty much all I've been eating, I just cant get enough..I can totally see why people give these to people in hospital haha.
What are your sick-day essentials? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for reading,
Love Zoe x
