Nails Inc - Alexa Cashmere

When I spotted that Nails Inc where joining forces with the style icon Alexa Chung (who is also the new face of the brand), I knew straight away this was going to be a winning combo. Then when I looked at the press release for the new Alexa line they all where nail effect/texture polishes; if your a regular reader of Classic Rouge you'll know I'm not really a fan of these...I just prefer the shiny, glossy look and I find that these texture ones that are about can sometimes look rather tacky.
On the other hand was Alexa Chung really going to bring out a load of polishes that would be anything less than chic? probably not.

I trusted Alexa and decided to give one a go in the shade Cashmere, lets see if I was swayed into the world of texture nail polishes.

As you have noticed Nails Inc have indeed changed up their bottle design and brand font, I think they look so much better; Instead of the usual rounded bottle and plastic lid, they are now in these chic looking, glass rectangular bottles with a rather heavy silver lid, they just feel and look more expensive, changing their bottles was definitely a walk in the right direction.. this alone just made me want to get my hands on them.
I like the way that when you pop off the silver lid your left with the little black one underneath that makes it easier to hold your brush and apply the polish, just like those Chanel ones.

Alexa Cashmere caught my eye first, it looks like the most perfect nude colour and reminds me a bit of  my favourite L'oreal Cheryl's Nude Lipstick, it has that same nude colour with slight purple tones to it.
The formula of this polish is brilliant, it applies smoothly, the brush makes application so easy as it fits perfectly to the arch of your nail bed due to the brush being slightly tapered and flat.

After I applied two coats and waited a few minutes for it to dry (without top coat) then effect of the polish came out; The effect that I saw was nothing crazy and totally wearable I was pretty impressed, It kind of dries slightly matte with a teeny tiny grainy effect to give it that cashmere look but its still very subtle. Its quite the classy looking and would be perfect for Autumn/Winter months.

If I like the shade of an effect polish id usually just go over it with my Seche Vite top coat to make it glossy and smooth again, but I have had this on for days now without top coat (no chips in sight) and I must say that I really rather like this.
Also some nude polishes make my hands look all corpsy but this particular shade just compliments my skin tone and makes everything look more erm.. polished..funny that!

If your like me and are not really a fan of these texture polishes id recommend you have a look at the Nails Inc Alexa Range... I think you may change your mind.

Next on my list is to try the Nail Kale range, Alexa Sequins and Alexa Leather.

You can buy Nails Inc Alexa Cashmere Here for £15.00

What are your thoughts on textured polishes? Will you be buying anything from the new Alexa line? What do you think about their new change of bottles?

P.S if there was any time to break out my Alexa Chung It Book for photos, now was the time! haha.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts..Thanks For Reading,

Love Zoe x

  10. I saw this on your instagram and thought I NEED THIS!
Totally agree with you on the effects nails, the only ones I've liked using is the magnetic nails but all others are a hell no.
I'll have to get this soon it's so different, swear I've never seen anything like it before!

  11. I love this shade, it's very sophisticated :) I find textured nail polishes to be quite hit and miss but this one looks nice and subtle xx

  12. Haha yay! Thanks for popping over for a read :) .. It's a beauty isn't it, I didn't even try any of the magnetic ones, but most of them just don't look good on my hands if you know what I mean? I haven't either it's totally unique xx

  13. It's definitely the most gorgeous nude shade, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that about textured polish! This one is so pretty, wearable and I love it x

  14. I quite like the new style of bottle, another blogger I read was saying they're a bit like the Butter London bottles?

    Stunningly Inept

  15. I think it looks beautiful! I want it but I just can't justify paying £15 for a nail varnish. I'd rather spend that on something else, but it looks great! Xx

  16. Nice aren't they, yes I guess they are too.. These, butter London and the chanel ones like i mentioned all have the similar pop off lids with the one underneath :) x

  17. Aw thanks! Yea I know what you mean it is pretty pricey.. Deffo a treat polish xx

  18. Wow that's such an interesting texture! Alexa makes for great collaborations!

Would love if you check out my blog. Following you now on twitter and instagram :)

  21. It's a beauty isn't it.. It really is different, not usually a fan of textures but this one was just beaut! Ooh you deffo need to try it yourself ;) .. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment :) xx

  22. This definitely looks like textures done well! Sometimes the textures can come out kind of uneven and it ruins the look, but this one definitely looks like a good quality texture nail polish! :)

  27. Glad it's not just me as they are pretty popular aren't they!? I know I'm so in love with this shade .. I can't even say I have a dupe over the 100s I have haha! Aww thanks so much you sweetie xx

  28. Oh wow, I had no idea Alexa had launched some new polishes with Nails Inc, that's fantastic! I really like Nails Inc textured nail polishes, I tried a 'concrete' effect one similar to this and loved the outcome. Glad they decided to upgrade their packaging too, definitely makes me want to go out and buy some more of their new line! This particular shade looks so pretty. x
