Annabelles Wigs Challenge

It's been a very long time since I have used any kind of hair extensions, and recently I have been craving those long bouncy locks which I most certainly don't have! I took to the internet to try and find the best looking hair extensions/hair pieces that wouldn't break the bank.
The thing is, it's just so hard to tell the quality and colour match; Synthetic hair can sometimes look obviously fake and way too shiny, then there is the risk of getting the shade wrong. So I put off getting any for some time till I spotted my friend Serene, from I AM SERENE L blog posted a review on Annabelles wigs, sporting one of their 1/2 wigs HERE - it looked amazing and so natural on her and was just what I was after.

INM - Out The Door Northern Lights Top Coats

A glitter top coat that dry extra quick!...yes please!. I don't know about you but I get put off using glitter polishes because it takes so long to dry even with a swipe of my beloved Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
I was kindly asked if I would like to try these pretty Hologram topcoats by INM, I did some research as I had never heard of the brand before, people seem to love them from the reviews I had read and if anything claims to speed up the nail polish drying process I'm all for it.
So obviously I agreed to try them out, and I'm very impressed.

Lush - Honey I Washed My Hair

Granted, this isn't the prettiest thing from Lush to look at, but when I spotted this on their website in the 'new section' and that it was called Honey I washed my Hair, I thought oh yes!! this is going to have my favourite Lush scent, like their very famous Honey I Washed the Kids soap.
This is a solid shampoo bar, I wasn't sure how I would feel about using shampoo in this form, but all I knew was that I wanted my hair to smell of that honey/toffee goodness so I took the plunge when I spotted it in my nearest store.

November Favourites

This months favourites consist of quite a few new discoveries, they are just some things I instantly fell in love with and have really been enjoying using recently.

Urban Deacy - Vice 3 Palette

The Vice 3 palette is one of Urban Decay's latest offerings, and when it comes to palettes they can do no wrong in my eyes. I kind of felt the urge to add yet another one to my collection purely because their eye shadow selection and formulas are faultless.
This palette was a lot more out of my comfort zone as it has actual colour!! not just browns, taupes and bronze but bright blues and pinks ...woah right!? - I just couldn't resist, it looks so pleasing to the eye and holds a whopping 20 colours.

Iconemesis Iphone Cases

When it comes to phone cases  I am pretty fussy.. I don't want crazy bling or 3D animals on the back of my phone; although that trend is very popular with cases at the moment, and don't get me wrong they can look cute, it's just not me and I don't find them very practical.
I look for something chic and stylish, after all my phone is always out so I want it to look good too, I do find it really hard to find a case I like in my local shops.

That's when I discovered the site Iconemesis, I don't think there is a case on their site that I don't like. They have something for most tastes - Floral, Edgy, Cute and Chic and they aren't tacky what-so-ever.

LollyRocket - Candles

LollyRocket is a locally run business located in Northamptonshire, they did have a lovely and very popular little store in my town centre that sold the most quirky, vintage looking items for your home. Unfortunately they sold up and its now under another name, but I was chuffed to see that they now have their very own online store.
When I spotted on their Instagram page that they where hand-making candles, I was all over it! you should see the amazing scent range they do, its impressive. They even stock candles that are specifically for gifts, such as the ones labelled 'New Home' and 'Thank You' - it's such a lovely and unique idea.

Ultimate Collections

I have always loved accessories, hence my job working with them for a good 6 years before I left for maternity leave.
You could have the most plain outfit on, add a few special pieces of jewellery then it all comes together and can completely transform your look.
I don't know if anyone else follows this rule, but I like to either have a statement necklace on OR earrings - not both, just because I find it can be a little too much sometimes.

So I have for you a mixture of two stunning pairs of earrings, from one of my favourite accessory companies at the moment - Ultimate Collections.

November Birchbox

This months Birchbox theme is Cosy at Home, and boy is it a good one! I really love how Birchbox incorporate a theme to go with the products each month. The Cosy at Home edition includes a load of essentials that are perfect for that pamper night in; Just because sometimes all you want to do is relax in your huge, snuggly dressing gown after a hard days work with a good book or your favourite film.

Sick-Day Essentials

If you follow me on twitter you would have heard me whining about feeling ill...again! I'm still pretty iffy now but trying to solder on and keep my baby blog running haha.
I didn't want to post unless my heart was in it really, so I decided to write this post all about my Sick-Day Essentials that have been making me feel a little more 'human' lately, and if your unfortunately in the same boat it may give you some ideas too.

October Favourites

Every month I try so hard not to start my monthly favourites with.. woah its favourites time already, but October felt super speedy! - so basically I just said it but in a different way? haha.

My favourites for the month of October are..

Sunday, 2 November 2014

One Love Organics - Skin Saviour Waterless Beauty Balm

I received a small sample of this One Love Organics Skin Saviour in a Birchbox a good few months back, I loved it that much I savoured every last drop. I even kept the pot so that I wouldn't forget to re purchase the full size.
I had never heard of the brand One Love Organics since trying it through Birchbox, and this is exactly why I think these beauty boxes are a great concept.. just because you get to discover new products, and brands that you would never have normally come across.

Flamingo Candles - Applecurrant Crumble

As soon as autumn arrives, the candles come out in full force...and I know I'm not the only one - I get a candle addiction around the same time every year haha.
I love nothing more than snuggling up under a blanket, with a good book, mug of hot chocolate, and a delicious smelling candle. Its just the perfect way to end a night, as it helps relax and unwind me before I try and catch some Zzz's.
The candle I have been using and really enjoying at the moment is this one by Flamingo Candles, in the scent Applecurrant Crumble -  the scent couldn't be more accurate to be honest with you!

Korres Make-up

I think I may be a little late to the bandwagon with this, but I have always heard of how amazing the Greek brand Korres is; people always seem to be raving about their little pots of lip butters, and I'm ashamed to say I have actually never even tried one, till now.
I never realised how much of a makeup selection they had till I started roaming their website, Korres have everything from nail polish, to foundation with a fantastic shade range to boot.
So when I got the chance to try some Korres makeup for myself I was delighted - I was kindly sent two lip butters in Pomegranate and Jasmine, Mandarin Lip Butter Stick in rose and a Volcanic Minerals Long Lasting Eyeliner in Grey.

Estée Lauder - Daywear Creme

I received this moisturiser as part of a gift-with-purchase set at an Estée Lauder counter in Boots - I did a post about the set here, this little pot of moisturiser impressed me the most out of everything. It's beautiful and I can honestly say I will be re-purchasing the full size version.

I'm not usually one to get excited about a moisturiser, it's usually face serums and masks that do that for me. There is just something about this DayWear moisturising Creme that really wows me like no other.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil - Review

To be completely honest with you, I have never really used a facial oil in my skincare routine, just because I always thought oily products on my oily skin would be a complete nightmare. But word on the street is oil based products can in-fact help us oily skinned people.
If you follow me on twitter you will have seen me complaining about feeling ill recently, I had a cold one week then was sick the was just my luck really.
To cut a long story short, being ill the past two weeks took its toll on my skin, it was dry from too much tissue rubbing on the ol' nose (my other half decided it would be cool to buy me cheap Spiderman tissues...may as well have used a nice sheet of sandpaper), it also looked really dull and pretty dehydrated - that's when I whipped out the Trilogy Rosehip oil every night before bed.

Lush Haul

I have always been a huge Lush fan, I get so excited when their limited edition collections come out - Lush always seem to bring something new to the table which makes bath time so much more fun and exciting. I love how much imagination they put into their products by making the names of them fit so well to the ingredient's / scents and designs.
Their Christmas collections has to be my favourite, as soon as they come out I'm straight in there!
They have such a huge selection, Lush don't do Christmas by half's I tell ya.

October Birchbox

As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month Birchbox have decided to partner with Coppafeel! and bring us a our monthly boxes, with a pretty pink theme, that they have titled "work it". Everything in this box is going to help you get motivated and help you tackle whatever your days will bring - they have included a cute lipstick pen and a little planner, that you can tick off everyday to help with that motivation you may need - such as swapping a croissant for a healthier breakfast and making personal's such a nifty idea and gives this box that extra feel-good factor.

Charlotte Tilbury - Matte Revolution Lipsticks

Charlotte Tilbury is becoming more and more popular recently, and rightly so! If you are a regular reader you'll know I'm quite the fan myself; I reviewed the Filmstar Bronze and Glow and The Nude Kate Lipstick combo a few weeks back.
What's not to love - the rose gold packaging is completely stunning and like nothing else I've ever seen, the quality is amazing, and her makeup just has this way of making you feel so special...even if its just a quick swipe of one lipstick!.

Smashbox - Cherry Smoke Eye Shadow Palette

Doesn't this palette just scream Autumn to you? The Smashbox Cherry Smoke Eye shadow Palette contains eight beautiful, deep, earthy toned shades with an even amount of shimmers and mattes, so there is something for everyone.
At the moment I seem to be loving the whole coppery/burnished red tones eye shadow wise and I've noticed it being popular with other people too. I think that's what initially drew me to this palette as its just simply full it - the name of this is very fitting to the palette as it can create the most striking cherry smokey eye looks.
I can also get away with wearing this in the day by just sticking to the less intense shades so its a pretty versatile palette to have, if you like warm tones that is?.

Arran Aromatics - Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Soak

Its coming to that time of the year now where I prefer a nice relaxing bath over a quick shower, along with a nice candle and my favourite face mask. For me; a bath is all about un-winding and de-stressing so I tend to opt for something with nice calming scents to help me drift off easier at night. If you're a regular reader you'll know I've become quite a fan of anything Lavender scented, so I was absolutely delighted when I got the chance to try this Arran Aromatics Lavender and Black Pepper Mineral Soak.

Estee Lauder - Gift-with-purchase at Boots

I decided to just pop this little post up as I think its such a great deal- I just had to share it with everyone.
I ran out of my beloved Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation so popped to my local boots to pick one up specially. I spotted the sign at the counter that if you buy two things from Estee Lauder (one being skincare or foundation and the other can be anything else) you get this cute makeup bag filled with some amazing goodies. So I bought my foundation £29 and decided to try one of their nail polishes in the shade 'Black Plum' £14 which is this gorgeous deep berry shade, and I got this lot for free!

September Favourites

This time around I found it extra tricky to pick my favourites, I seemed to have discovered quite a few new things that I have really been enjoying throughout September.
Here are the little gems (and that they are) which made it to my final five - cue XFactor theme tune.

Charlotte Tilbury - Filmstar Bronze & Glow

Charlotte Tilbury is a name you will be seeing every where at the moment, and I have become quite the fan of her gorgeous packaging and the quality makeup.
I did a review of the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick and Lip Cheat here, never does her packaging fail to please.
I ordered this Filmstar Bronze & Glow along with the Powder and Sculpt bruh from her website after lusting over it for absolutely ages. When my order came, it was beautifully packaged in a box with a CT sticker closing it, once opened its protected in her signature burgundy coloured tissue paper and an envelope with your receipt inside - its probably the most special looking parcel I've ever had!
Once you get over how well Charlotte Tilbury presents her online orders, its on to the real deal..

Lush - D'Fluff

While having a good ol' browse in Lush a few weeks back, I came across this D'fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap. I had a little look at the tester they had out; it was this pot of thick, creamy, pink strawberry goodness - I had to take it home, it just looked so appealing..i can honestly say I have never been so excited to try a shaving soap before, its just something Lush does to me haha.

Bumble and Bumble - Hairdressers Invisible Oil

You may have seen a few weeks back that I reviewed the Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil trio here. Shortly after buying the trio I decided to give the oil a go - for a couple of reasons actually, one being I love me some hair oil and the set I tried was brilliant.. the other being i'm a sucker for a complete set. Did I need another hair oil? No probably not - story of my life haha!.

Look Fantastic Beauty Box

As soon as I spotted on Adrienne's blog (The Sunday Girl) that Look Fantastic where releasing a beauty box I was all over it. I went straight over and pre-ordered it about a week ago and much to my delight its here with me today.
So obviously I had to share with you lovely lot what goodies came in this box, so you can go purchase one of your me your going to want this! for £15 you cant go wrong.

The Perfect Nude Lip Combo

If you follow me on any kind of social media, you will have noticed I may have become slightly obsessed with all things Charlotte Tilbury. While browsing her website I could have easily bought everything, but I popped a few things in my basket including this Lip Cheat pencil in Iconic Nude and the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in Nude Kate, that time around I changed my mind and took it back out from my basket. Then a day later I spot Aimee wearing this gorgeous nude lip colour on her Instagram, only to find out it was the exact Charlotte Tilbury lip duo I was eying up...damn I should have got it!.
That same day I went back online and placed the order, and boy am I glad I did.

The Bathory - Soothe Bath Soak

No pamper night is complete without that luxury, relaxing bath experience - I'm sure you'll all agree with me.
I have to have at least one pamper session a week just relax and take some much needed me time when my little ones are sleeping. I will grab a glass of wine (because #winenot haha..had to be done sorry), pop on a face mask, light a nice candle, and run my bath with my most favourite new find...The Bathory Soothe Bath Soak.
This made its way into my August Favourites post, but it really deserves one all of its own.

Dream Dots - For Spots review

There are so many different spot fighting skin care products on the market, it can all get a bit confusing sometimes can't it?.
Sometimes you just want something plain, simple yet effective. This is where Dream Dots jump in - Dream dots are little overnight treatment patches for spots. All you do is pop this little sticky patch on clean dry skin and leave it over night, then while its working its magic the sticker is supposed to turn white from where the spot was.

I have to say I was a bit sceptical with this product, I just couldn't see how it would work without any active ingredients, It completely baffled me.

So a few nights back a big sore spot came up to say hello, and bought a few of his smaller mates to the party-oh joy!..This is when I decided it was time to see if these Dream Dots actually work.

August Favourites

Another month down and a wave goodbye to summer. Here are the products that I have really been enjoying using in the month of August.

Benefit Majorette - Review

Today I have for you the newest release from Benefit cosmetics, if your are a regular reader you'll know what a sucker I am for Benefit makeup so when I spotted it on Saturday (which was the actual release date) I had to go over and have a quick play. The lovely lady who works at the counter (who actually knows me by name now), spoke a bit about the product to me and popped a bit on my cheeks..i was pretty impressed to say the least - hence the purchase.

The first thing you'll notice with majorette is the really cute kitsch packaging that benefit do oh-so-well. Its a really sturdy plastic case/pot that has a magnetized close to it and the shape of this strangely reminds me of a macaroon. The middle of the pot has a pretty peach scalloped design, then when you flip it open it reveals a little mirror - a plastic cover for the product so things don't get messy, and a handy little "tips and tricks" fold out guide.

Illamasqua - Precision Brow Gel (Including Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade Comparison)

This was my first ever Illamasqua purchase and it wasn't something I originally intended buying. I was infact looking at their oh-so-popular Brow Cake (brow powder) just for a different brow product to try that I could use along side my favourite Anastasia Dip brow Pomade to give a softer effect at the front of my brows.
While looking at the Illamasqua Brow Cake the sales assistant at the counter came over and insisted I try their new Precision Brow Gel- he had me at the word new, I'm always up for trying something a bit different.

As soon as he whipped out the jar of product I thought.. ahh this is going to be just like the Dip Brow Pomade , then he swatched it on his hand with their angled brush and it just looked fantastically smooth and easy to control - I was that impressed with the demo I even bought the brush he used with it too!

Nip + Fab Bee Sting Fix Range

Nip + Fab are a brand I have been aware of for ages now, although I have only tried their body butters (which are amazing and surprisingly light) I have always been curious about their skincare and just recently I have been seeing more and more of their products popping up in shops. I even spotted on their Instagram that the gorgeous Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea is the new face of the brand which is pretty awesome.

For the past couple of weeks I have been trialling their latest offering of the Bee Sting line which contains actual bee venom...woah right?!..
I was kind of anxious about giving these a go because of that ingredient, but on the other hand I was pretty excited as I've never tried anything like it before.
I have seen a few very pricey skincare brands around that have bee venom popped in some of their products as its supposed to have an amazing ,lifting and plumping effect on the skin, but now you don't have to spend top dollar thanks to Nip + Fab.

Bumble and Bumble. - The Hairdressers Trio

I have been on the hunt for some hair care products that could help tame my unruly, frizzy dry hair for what seems like ages now, I have tried everything from L'Oreal to Morrocanoil, nothing really floated my boat until I got my hands on the Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Trio.
I have seen these about for a while and was rather put off the hefty price tag you probably know Bumble and Bumble ain't cheap!
I then spotted they had this set of miniatures on a visit to Boots one day and thought it would be a great way to start; if your a regular reader of Classic Rouge you will know how much I love the idea of mini-try-me sets like this, I just think they are a great way of giving a range a good go before you decide to commit to a full size.

Frank Body Scrub..Lets Be Frank

Like you probably have, I've been seeing these Frank body scrubs pop up everywhere with their risqué pictures of girls/boys covered in what looks like soil, along with cheeky little captions such as "Get Naked, Get Dirty, Get Rough, Get Clean" over social media for the past couple of months, and like most things that get a whole lotta hype.. it sparks my curiosity.
Plus I do love me a good body scrub, and Frank wasn't just your average man scrub..Frank was a fresh COFFEE scrub, and if you know me at all you'll know I'm a sucker for coffee.

Magnitone Lucid - Review

I seem to be getting quite into my skincare at the moment, a week or so ago I was on the look out for something that I could use along-side my usual cleansing regime to give my pores that extra deep clean. I had obviously heard of the Clarisonic Facial Brushes, but these are quite on the pricey side so I was constantly on the hunt for a cheaper alternative. That's when the lovely people at Magnitone contacted me, asking me to join their review panel for the #7daychallenge. I researched the company/products as you do and it sounded just like what I was after!

Motivational Mondays ~ Breakfast-on-the-go Recipes

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day; and probably my favourite. So many people I know always say ..ahh I don't have enough time in the mornings to think about breakfast, let alone make it healthy and filling to see me through till lunch.
I have given these said people a few of my breakfast recipe's and lets say they where very much a hit, so today I have decided to show you lucky people two of my favourite morning recipes using the very delish Upbeat Protein drinks.

Nails Inc - Alexa Cashmere

When I spotted that Nails Inc where joining forces with the style icon Alexa Chung (who is also the new face of the brand), I knew straight away this was going to be a winning combo. Then when I looked at the press release for the new Alexa line they all where nail effect/texture polishes; if your a regular reader of Classic Rouge you'll know I'm not really a fan of these...I just prefer the shiny, glossy look and I find that these texture ones that are about can sometimes look rather tacky.
On the other hand was Alexa Chung really going to bring out a load of polishes that would be anything less than chic? probably not.

I trusted Alexa and decided to give one a go in the shade Cashmere, lets see if I was swayed into the world of texture nail polishes.

GlamGlow Supermud Review

This Review has been a long time coming, there is a little story to this.. Basically a few weeks back I was having some serious spot troubles, they appeared around my chin and jawline and they just wouldn't budge what-so-ever, that's when I hit the net and did some research on spot clearing products and came across the GlamGlow Supermud.
I have seen GlamGlow masks around before but the price always put me off at around £49.99 a pot! so while I was on the GlamGlow site I spotted they did a samples kit you can buy, it includes..

Too Faced - Chocolate Bar Palette

Oh boy is this one delicious looking eye shadow palette, and one I've had my eye on for ages!
I never decided to take the plunge till now because it was the question I need another neutral eye shadow palette after owning all three of the Urban Decay Naked's?
Don't be silly course I do, #beautybloggerproblems..(story of my life).

The design and the names of the eye shadows, such as Crème Brulee and Black Forest Truffle sold me straight away, its literally Willy Wonka heaven.

Motivational Mondays ~ Progress

I cant believe how amazing and supportive everyone has been on my last Motivational Mondays post, I was left some really lovely comments so It has really spurred me on to keep this series going, so thank you!
Today I want to talk all about keeping progress, I realise that the whole seeing the progress thing can be tough, especially when you have worked your butt off all week in the gym, then hop on the scales at the end of the week and they haven't changed at all. It happens to the best of us, and I have to admit it would make me feel really down what's the point? I'm doing this and obviously not getting anywhere....FALSE!
I am going to show you how you don't have to just measure your progress with the scales, there are other ways that are sure to keep you going without that dis-heartened feeling you may get.

July Favourites

I found it super difficult to think of just a few beauty favourites this month as I have been loving so many. Here is what products made it to the final cut and shone through for me in the month of July.

Facacia Skincare System - New Product Launch

Today I have a first impressions post on a new and exciting product launch that is due out this weekend, Saturday the 2nd of August on QVC and to be precise.

Id like to introduce to you the brand Facacia, what I have here is a two step skincare system that is also antibacterial, and we all know skincare with antibacterial properties is going to be amazing at banishing those pesky spots and prevent them from showing up again.
To be honest with you these products couldn't have been sent to me at a better time, I'm having serious breakouts around my chin area at the moment so I can really put them to the test and see how they work (watch this space).

Mademoiselle Gabrielle - Exfoliating Mask

I was lucky enough to get sent this beautiful looking Mademoiselle Gabrielle face mask a few weeks back from the lovely people at Purenesse.
Pureness is an online store that offer high quality, natural and organic products from quite a few French skincare brands, and we all know the French have it down to a tee when it comes to skincare, so this isn't a bad little site if you fancy giving some new brands a go.

I had never heard of the brand Mademoiselle Gabrielle, so I did some research and read reviews before hand. I think its important to do this as you want to make sure its safe it is going on your skin. Here is a little bit about the brand..

National Lipstick Day ~ My Top Summer Lipsticks

Happy National Lipstick day everyone! I thought today would be good timing for my top summer lipsticks post.
Could you imagine life without ever wearing a lipstick ever again? well I was reading up on this national lipstick day and apparently the government tried to ban it years back, and people said that wearing lipstick should be an offence punishable by law..oh er! what a colourless life us beauty fans would have lived.

Today I have decided to pick out my favourite summer lipsticks, you'll have to excuse the state of them, they have been very loved and have been bashed around in my handbag a lot.

Motivational Mondays ~ Keeping it Simple

Today I have decided to start a new series on my blog that goes by the name of Motivational Mondays, my aim is to help those of you who feel like taking a step in the right direction towards a more healthier lifestyle.. from time to time we all need that little kick up the butt to help keep us going and I thought this would be a great idea, what do you think?.

I have spoke about my weight loss journey in older posts here and here if you would like a read.
To cut a long story short, after having my 2 baby boys Alfie 3 and Charlie 16 months I gained quite a bit of weight, I was really unhappy and embarrassed about the way I looked, and realised only I could do something about it.

After all life is too short to feel unhappy in your own skin so you may as well feel confident, happy, healthy and make the right changes.

Benefit Rockateur Blush Review

Recently I seem to have been getting more and more into Benefit makeup, this is probably the fault of my new local Benefit counter in Boots, they have just made all their products look so appealing and pretty the magpie in me just cant resist.
While looking at the ever-so-famous Benefit box blushes the lady that works there came to have a little chat with me about them, then offered to try some on me. She asked me if I had ever seen the Rockateur blush as its her favourite, I then explained that I had seen it about but it looked far to glittery for me, she said well lets give it a go I think you'll be surprised....and that I was!
As soon as I looked in the mirror after she applied it to my cheekbones it was love at first sight and I knew this bad boy had to be mine.
The shade and finish just instantly brightened up my face its seriously one beautiful blush.
